Day #1: Your Workspace- See my last post to hear all about my studio!
Day #2: Art Supplies- These right here are my right hand dudes. My tools of the the trade, my watercolor and paint brushes. Even if I'm having an off day I know these little guys will always help me create something beautiful.
Day #3: Work in Progress- I needed to just paint in the midst of a pile of commissions on my to-do list. I had no idea if I'd end up liking it, but I just needed to create. I went into this one with the intention to experiment, and see where the materials would lead me. We'll see where it goes, but I'll make sure to show what it looks like at the end!
Day #4: What Inspires You- I think my biggest inspiration comes from seeing other artists' work. I love seeing how other people think. It encourages me to experiment with my own art and get out of my comfort zone.
Day #5: Timelapse Video- Here's a video of me messing around with some acrylic ink in my sketchbook.
Day #6: Artist Shoutout- I came across an artist named Lisa Concannon whose use of color and line come together to creative mesmerizing paintings. She's one of the many artists I've found and developed relationships with because of this challenge.
Day #7: Selfie in Your Workspace- The last day of the challenge called for a picture of ourselves in our studio and to talk a little bit about ourselves.. These photos are great chance to show what artists do on a daily basis. Its just another peek into our lives.
What I learned- This challenge taught me that people want to see my process and learn more about me. Instagram is not only a portfolio for finished pieces, it can also be great for showing an artist's journey.
The prompts each day pushed me out of my comfort zone to share with the world what I normally wouldn't. I formed relationships with other artists and found that the artist community wants to build each other up, support, and learn from one another. The 'Insanely Inspired Instagram' challenge has helped me show the world who I truly am as an artist and as a person.
